3 Kid-Friendly Gluten Free Desserts

I’m back in America! And, slowly making my way home. (I just left Yosemite today.) So there will be more recipes are coming your way soon as I re-enter the kitchen. And, I’m looking forward to baking some desserts. To kick things off here are three ideas to allow your celiac kids decorate their own desserts!

(Side Note: I’m co-hosting Fiesta Friday with the lovely Laurena @LifeDietHealth. Details below!)

#1: Sandcastle Cake

We made these as kids with our mom! I loved filling up the sandcastle mold and crushing the cookie crumbs. You can also decorate your cake with all sorts of candies too. (An adult should remove the ice cream cake from the mold because you will need warm water for this step.) Pick up the ingredients at your local grocery store because this treat is perfect for summer!

You can use dairy free ice cream to keep this treat DF or even vegan!

Did you know that jelly bellies are gluten free?! While they’re one of my staple items for a sugar rush at an airport, I meet so many celiacs who didn’t know they could enjoy this treat. While I chose to top my cupcakes with flowers, you can use jelly bellies to make any design! Let your kids’ imaginations run wild!

How to make EMOJI CUPCAKES (Gluten Free and Vegan)

These are gluten free AND vegan!

I’m not going to lie, this one requires A LOT of help from a grown up. (You may want to craft these up yourself as a surprise for the kids.) BUT, children seem to love these treats! I’ve seen a couple of cute faces drawn by kids as well. And, a big mess to clean up after!

Even happy tears are blue.

While the directions are straightforward, this post will tell you what products are gluten free (and dairy free). I’m a big fan of Satin Ice fondant, and you won’t want to miss the dairy free buttercream frosting recipe either!

Now, I wouldn’t forget to share some pictures from the last week as well. Here’s a few from Yosemite. My first stop back in the US!

That’s all from me! But, for more great recipes, stories, and more, come join us at Fiesta Friday! It’s basically a huge party in the blogosphere, started by Angie, that we all help to co-host now. There’s always great food, and you can link up a post too. Just follow some basic guidelines AND link back to the party and co-hosts. (This week that’s Laurena and me!) Your post could even be featured at the next week’s party.

So come, join in!

Happy Fiesta Friday, y’all!
