4 Gluten and Dairy Free Desserts for Chocolate Lovers

Calling all chocolate lovers- this post is for you! I certainly enjoy a bit of chocolate every day. In fact quickly upon arriving in Adelaide, Australia, I went on a search for gluten and dairy free chocolate. Don’t worry, I found plenty! I should have quite a few options until I return to the States.

4 Gluten and Dairy Treats for Chocolate Lovers

From Chocolateria San Churro (Runde St, Adelaide, Australia)

So this week’s roundup is of chocolate recipes. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of new recipes coming to the blog soon too. But, I’m certain you won’t want to miss the Chocolate Crinkle Cookies or Chocolate Chip Quinoa blondies that were on my blog awhile back.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

This is by far my FAVORITE gluten and dairy free cookie. The crinkle texture is simply delightful. It’s a family favorite and one you simply must try.

You do have to use the wholesome Cup 4 Cup to keep it dairy free. (Feel free to try a different flour mix and let me know how it comes out). Therefore, I sometimes find a lingering piece of flaxseed in my mouth after I’ve eaten 3-4 cookies. BUT, the taste is right on point, and the chocolatey goodness simply melts in your moth.

Erin McKenna’s Brownie Bites Mix (Vegan)

A Gluten and Dairy Free Feast (with recipes included)

You can decorate these to your heart’s content as well. I topped mine with little Santa hats for Christmas!

Sometimes you don’t want to bake from scratch. In which case, I recommend Erin McKenna’s Brownie Bites Mix, which you can simply order online. ALWAYS cook these in a mini muffin tin. (I personally recommend little wrappers because they tend to stick to the side of the pan.)

This is the perfect boxed mix for a chocolate lover because it’s a BROWNIE with chocolate chips inside. Can you say chocolate heaven?!

Chocolate and Mint Cookies

Chocolate Mint Cookies (GF, DF)

Yum! This flourless chocolate cookie combines many individuals’ favorite flavors- chocolate and mint. This is my sister’s favorite chocolate cookie on this list. They’re nice and thin with a bit of a crunch.

This should definitely be on your list if you are a chocolate mint lover!

Chocolate Chip Quinoa Blondies!

While not pure chocolate, this is a family favorite and there’s PLENTY of chocolate inside. I promise!

We found this recipe odd at first because the quinoa flour smells interesting before you cook it, but once it went into the oven the smell was simply mouthwatering. And, when you eat them warm the chocolate is still gooey. This dessert is filling and sure to be a hit of any party!

Some Extra Recipes to Try!

My favorite chocolate chip cookie (GF, DF)

A Modified Version of the Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie that’s gluten and dairy free!

  • Chewy Chocolate Cookies (Vegan) – This was by far my favorite chocolate cookie going before I could eat eggs. You must mix these well and ensure that your flour is fresh. But, if you do both these things, you’ll be grabbing these by the handful. They’re sweet and tasty! Full Recipe available in post.
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies – What chocolate lover doesn’t love a classic? This chocolate chip cookie recipe is gluten and dairy free. I love to turn mine into an ice cream sandwich using a dairy free chocolate option too! Full Recipe available in post.

And there you have it, 4+ chocolate recipes for anyone who is gluten and dairy free! These are some of my favorite recipes since my celiac diagnosis, so I hope you enjoy them too. I’m of course bringing these to my favorite party in the blogosphere- Fiesta Friday! Thank you so much to  Sonal @ simplyvegetarian777 and Petra @ Food Eat Love for co-hosting this week. 😀
