Every Christmas is magical, but yesterday had its own special touch. As I rolled out of bed, I quickly realized that it was pay day- a day earlier than I expected! And, as I logged on to check the grooming report, one of my favorite trails for the season opened on Christmas Day!
I hopped in my snowboard to make some pristine tracks in the little bit of powder that fell the night before. Once the best snow of the day was gone and the trails were no longer empty, I headed home for a more traditional Christmas traditions- stockings, gifts, and playing games.
With the help of Premium Chocolatiers, Santa stuffed my stocking with gluten, dairy, and nut free chocolate. Some of which was in his likeness!
Spago is one of my favorite restaurants in Beaver Creek, CO. This Wolfgang Puck restaurant is located at the Ritz in Bachelor Gulch. While they serve gluten and my other allergens, they always take the highest precautions when it comes to preparing my meal. They do appreciate that I bring a business card with my allergies on it though.
My modified dish of scallops with the Hong Kong style vegetables is always a hit. But, as we got ready for dessert, I learned about a final Christmas surprise- Spago is now serving gluten free and vegan cookies. They’re not on the menu, but you can feel free to ask about them. I do not recommend these for those with celiac disease due to cross-contact concerns, but any other members of your party may try them.
These cookies are not only gluten free and vegan, but they came out piping hot and smelt delicious. While they have a grainy texture. They’re soft and sweet from the Agave, and even my sister approves of this gluten free treat.
