Magical Monday: Tony’s Town Square

“Look at the skies, they have stars in their eyes

On this lovely bella notte.”

Could anyone forget the spot of Lady and the Tramp’s first kiss? Well, maybe, if you’re not a Disney fan, or you’re slightly younger than me. Nonetheless, when you’re walking down Main Street USA, be sure to turn to your right and check out Tony’s Town Square.

From the moment you enter, the mood is set as Lady and the Tramp plays on a television screen in the waiting area. (This is a good way for your younger children to catch up on some classic Disney movies too). The restaurant features classic Italian cuisine (and American too!), which can be intimidating with celiac disease. However, they have plenty of rice noodles! And, if you’re on a longer trip to Disney World, it’s nice to shake up the type of food you’re eating!

Once we sat down, I spoke with the chef about all my meal options. Be sure to tell your waiter that you have a food allergy, so this accommodation will be made for you too. You can ask all the questions you want about the preparation, and I felt very comfortable in the hands of my chef for lunch.

For my appetizer I had the Seasonal Melon with prosciutto. I believe one part was modified, but I can’t remember what now. Anyway, it was absolutely delicious!

For my entrée, I had rice noodles! I could pick my vegetables, dressing etc. I don’t usually have balsamic on rice noodles, so it was interesting to try out, and definitely something I would have again.

Notice the allergy stick. You’ll see them A LOT if you dine in Disney with food allergies or celiac disease!

Another great part about Tony’s Town Square is that it’s right next to character greeting spots with elaborate backgrounds. Check out some of Tinkerbell’s backdrop, and you just might find some items from other Disney movies!
